Robert Harlow, Sr.

Robert “Shopper Bob” Harlow, Sr., 73, of Oak Grove passed away at his home on October 12, 2018. He was born August 11, 1945 in Marietta to George W. and Bertha (Roby) Harlow, Sr.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Marietta High School and Washington County Career Center in Welding and Computer Applications. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the US Army and was a life member of the American Legion and VFW. Bob was a Boiler Operator with Cytec Industries for 28 years before retiring in 2000 and later worked at Marietta Memorial Hospital as a security guard from 2006-2010. Bob attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and doing volunteer work, especially at the Gospel Mission Food Pantry, where he worked 7 days a week since it was founded.
Bob was married to Gloria A. (Petty) Harlow who preceded him in death on April 2, 2010.
Surviving are his children: Kimberly A. Beckett (Steven), Robert A. Harlow, Jr. (Kelli), Michael W. Harlow, Sr. and Kevin Harlow (Kim). Also surviving are his grandchildren Michael Harlow, Jr. (Deanna), Joshua Beckett, Dustin Harlow (Paige), Ashton Lemon (Justin), Austin Harlow, Avery Harlow, Bailey Harlow, Reagan Beckett and Aiden Harlow, great grandchildren Bryson, Cayson, and Jillian Harlow, Hunter Lemon, and Adley Harlow. A brother George W. Harlow, II (Linda), a sister Mara Ann Tucker (Randy), several special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who were like his kids: Jeff and Candy Waite and Rebecca Starcher.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 16th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in Tunnel Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may call the funeral home beginning 2:00 pm Monday with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8.
