Robert P. Burns

Robert P. Burns, 65, of Marietta passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born January 9, 1953, in Marietta to Carl C. and Doris Pinkerton Burns.

Bob was a graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1971, and from M.A.T.C. with an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. He had been employed at Forma Scientific as an Electrical Engineer, retiring in 2017.

Bob enjoyed fishing, watching Ohio State Buckeyes, Oakland Raiders, Cincinnati Reds and Warren Warriors, coaching baseball, electrical work and spending time with all nine grandkids, his family and his buddies.

On March 24, 1974, he married Maryanne E. Henry who survives with 2 sons and 1 daughter: Benjamin (Jovonnah) Burns of Belpre, Matthew (Cecilia) Burns of Santa Rosa, CA, Roxanne (Dave) Cline of Belpre; grandchildren: Tyler Burns of Parkersburg, Nevaeh Burns of Santa Rosa, Brandon Cline, Wyatt Cline and Nathaniel Cline all of Belpre, Gabby Burns of Santa Rosa, Maggine Burns, Cheyanne Cline and Amelia Burns all of Belpre. He is also his brothers, Gary (Marilyn) Burns of Minneapolis, MN and Jim (Karen) Burns of Belpre, and sister Marlene (Dale) Lauderman of Marietta.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law Mike and Betty Henry.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday (March 18) at 4:00 pm at Tunnel United Methodist Church with Reverend Richard Thomas officiating. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at Lankfordfh.com.
