Ruth McCabe

Ruth Hood McCabe, 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008.  Ruth was born on January 25, 1920 in Ambridge, PA, a daughter of William and Viola Hood.

She is survived by her sons Jack McCabe and Tom McCabe, her loving brother and sister Richard Hood and Helen Meinert, her beloved granddaughter Amanda Shriver, her grandsons:  Jeff, John, and Mark McCabe and her great grandsons Hunter, Colton and baby Logan and many nieces and nephews.  Ruth loved her family dearly and enjoyed painting, ceramics and playing cards.  She was a very wise, quick-witted wonderful person who will be missed very much and never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her son James E. McCabe and brother William “Bill” Hood.

A special thanks to the wonderful people of Heartland and her brother Rich who made Ruth’s last years as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 20th, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Paul McGuire officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 until 9 and Saturday from noon until 2.  Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Online condolences may be made by clicking here and completing our online form.
