Ruth N. Hughes
Ruth N. Hughes, 87, of Marietta passed away at 6:20am, Monday, May 5, 2014, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born on March 14, 1927, at Palmer Township, Ohio, a daughter of Alva and Wilda Rowland Pugh. Ruth was a homemaker, life member of American Motorcycle Association District 11, member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a founding member of The Pioneer Motorcycle Club.
On September 6, 1951, she married Robert D. Hughes who preceded her in death on December 27, 2002. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters: Ray Pugh, Vern Pugh, Glen Pugh, Herbert Pugh, Bessie Pugh Sweet, Alta Pugh Becker, and Wilma Pugh Loar.
Ruth is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and good friend Henry Swartz.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (May 8) at 2:30 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8.
