Sandra Lee Lathey Cokeley

Sandra Lee Lathey Cokeley of Waverly, WV, departed earth for her Heavenly home March 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. She was born May 13, 1939, in Tyler County, WV, to Harry Clark Lathey and Garnet Sheets Lathey. She was a 1957 graduate of Sistersville High School, and married the love of her life Gene Cokeley on April 11, 1958.

Sandra worked hard all her life and enjoyed living on the farm. She loved her Lord and Savior, her family, church, neighbors and friends. She was an outstanding wife, mother, cook, homemaker, alto singer, and a godly example for others. Sandra was a member of Willow Island Baptist Church.

Sandra is survived by her three children, Debbie Cokeley of Zephyrhills, FL, Mike (Twila) Cokeley of Waverly, WV, and Diana (Tom) Smith of St. Marys, WV, two grandchildren, Joshua Williams of St. Marys, WV and Jeremy Williams of Columbiana, OH, one brother, Ron Lathey of Williamstown, WV, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special person she considered her daughter, Bev Langston.

Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Gene in 2021, her parents, sister Shirley Brammer and brother Clyde Lathey.

Funeral services will be held on Monday (Mar. 11) at 11:00 am at Willow Island Baptist Church with burial following in Willow Island Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Sunday from 2-8 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the  church on Monday.
