Shirley May Davis

Shirley May Davis, 89, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away in the early morning of June 28, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital with her daughters by her side. She was born on September 15, 1935 in Coolville, Ohio to the late Alva and Frances Harper.

She was a graduate from Carthage-Troy High School in Coolville, Ohio in . She was a homemaker who loved to bake and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving children: Eva Griffin Sylvester (Gary) of Madison Heights, Michigan, Kerry Griffin of Little Hocking Ohio and Amber Ross (Rocky) of Marietta Ohio; and grandchildren: Isaac Ross (Elizabeth), Elijah Ross (Haley), Remi Ross, Noah Ross, Grant (Christina) Sylvester, Rachel Sylvester, Jazmine Davis, Haley Davis, Ashley Davis, Sara Griffin, Christina (Jeremy) Feick, Kerry Griffin, Anna Cunningham (Griffin), Nicole Griffin, and Lora Huych. Great grandchildren: Bentley Gutberlet, Tucker and Lilian Ross Rex Windland, Willow Windland, and Francesca Sylvester.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Davis in 1997. Her sister, Carole Harper Roop. Children: Gary (Kim) Griffin, Michael “Shane” Davis, Jarrod “Scott” Davis; and infant great-grand children: Keith Davis and Sutton Ross.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, at 11:00am McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by cremation. Family will greet friends at the funeral before the service from 9:00 until 11:00. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
