Steven Albert Meyer

Steven Albert Meyer, 81, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Harmar Place in Marietta.
He was born August 26, 1943, in Columbia City, Indiana to Robert and Margaret (Fiedler) Meyer.
He graduated from Columbia City High School, from Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and from Ohio University with a Master of Business Administration. After achieving Professional Engineer certification, he worked for many years at Borg-Warner Chemicals (later GE Plastics), Johns Manville, and other facilities in and around the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Steve was devoted to appreciating the great outdoors through camping, canoeing, and astronomy and was a lifelong supporter of the Sierra Club and Nature Conservancy. A lover of jazz, he volunteered for several years at the River City Blues Festival.
He is survived by his wife Maggie Meyer of Marietta and his son Sam Meyer (Bari) of New York City. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Susan Stabenow of Milwaukee.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 16 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home, 314 4th Street, Marietta. Private interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
