Thelma G. Skinner

Thelma G. Skinner, 86, former resident of Broughton Avenue, Marietta, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Stewart, Ohio.

She was born on June 13, 1924, in Newport, a daughter of Howard and Nettie Burkhart Mendenhall.  She was a homemaker and during WWII worked at American Viscose and later at Marietta Times.   She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

On July 8, 1941, she married Harold Skinner who preceded her in death on July 15, 2008.  She is survived by 2 sons:  Richard Skinner and his wife Terry of Stewart and David Skinner of Devola and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronald, grandson Keith Davis and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family would like to thank Appalachian Nursing for their care and concern.

Funeral services will be held on Monday (September 27th) at 1:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday after 2:00 pm with family present from 2-4 & 6-8.
