Thelma V. Longaberger

Thelma V. Longaberger, 88, of Williamstown, passed away at 9:20 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Harmar Place.  She was born on September 12, 1925, in Belpre, Ohio, a daughter of Arthur and Doyle Drake Francis.
 
Thelma ("Timmie") as she was known to all, worked over a quarter of her lifetime for the F.W. Woolworth Company having joined them to spend six months temporarily. Through this long association she had a wealth of hundreds of friends who knew her on a very personal basis. Her love to help never waned regardless of a six month temporary employment evolving into an increase of so many years. During this period she also managed to raise three children to adulthood. One son in his early twenties lost his life in an auto accident. While another daughter Deborah and son Kevin continue living nearby in the hometown of Williamstown.
 
On September 12, 1946, she married Paul H. Longaberger who survives with one son and one daughter, Kevin Longaberger and Deborah (Michael) Latstetter ; 4 grandchildren: Brian (Chrissy) Latstetter and Kerri (Ed) Schaad, Casey Longaberger, Jesse Longaberger; 5 great grandchildren, Jaynah, Johnnie and Jamey Latstetter and Owen and Karli Schaad.    Also surviving are her sister Agnes (Clyde) Hinton and brother Donald (Maxine) Francis and several nieces and nephews. 
 
Memorial service will be held on Saturday (March 8) at 3:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:30 until the hour of the service.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
