Thomas E. Hamilton

Portrait of Thomas E. Hamilton

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Thomas E. Hamilton of Vincent, Ohio. May 31, 1963 – Sept. 16 , 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Shirley Hamilton and his son SGT Michael T Marvin.

He is survived by Jeanne Hamilton, his two daughters Cayla Hively (Josh) and Lindsey Marvin, his beloved grandchildren Arianna & Lainya (Lindsey) and Cainen, Trinity, Aleister, & Everlynn (Cayla), 4 siblings and their spouses Bud (Judy)Hamilton, Becky (Marv) Hickenbottom, Dave (Sharon)Hamilton and Chuck (Michele) Hamilton, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom, or as Cayla jokingly called him “Fred”, was known for his humor, kindness and incredible tenacity. He was proficient in one liners that would have an entire room laughing, believing that even in the worst situations a little bit of humor can go a long way. His continual perseverance through everything life threw at him truly made him a giant among men. He retired from ODOT after 30 years and was an employee of the Parkersburg Utility Board at the time of his passing. He was never one to complain, he was dialysis dependent for a decade and faced many health struggles yet continued to work full time and was always available for those who needed him. The world is a little darker without him. However, he will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date as he will be cremated. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
