Trudy “Trudy” Thomas
Truda Roberta “Trudy” Ritchie Thomas, 64, of Newport, died on Saturday (May 4, 2013). She was born April 3, 1949, the daughter of the late Clem and Alice Tieman and the late Parke Ritchie. She was a 1967 graduate of Marietta High School. Trudy enjoyed quilting, bowling, genealogy and spending time with her grandkids.
On January 25, 1972, she married Lewis Thomas who survives along with one daughter, Jamie (Eric) McAfee of Newport and her 3 grandchildren: Brayden, Allyson and Jackson McAfee. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Patricia (Charles) Stille of Lower Salem and Vicki (Ray) Whittle of Marietta and 3 brothers: Robert (Lisa) Ritchie of Marietta, David Ritchie of San Springs, OK and Frank (Menchu) Tieman of Goose Creek, SC.
Also along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Clayton Thomas and one sister Mary “Susie” Stille.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Trudy’s name to the Newport Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (May 8) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral home with Pastor Keith Kapple officiating. Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery.
