Valerie J. Adkins age, 51 of Marietta, OH passed into the presence of her Lord at the hospital on July 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Edward H., Jr. and Mary Lou Mullins on August 1, 1966.

She was a graduate from First Baptist Christian School in Elyria, OH. She was a loving wife and homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, WV., a state officer with Woodmenlife, and was very active with OCCL. Valerie also served as Ambassador for the Marietta area Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Ambassador of the year for 2017. She enjoyed volunteering at the Marietta Dance Academy for many years. She ministered to others through catering for many years. She loved working with the seniors as Director of the Young at Heart Ministry at Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, WV. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, and making candy bouquets. She loved her years of ministry at Hannah’s House.

She is survived by her husband Jeff, son Benjamin, and daughter Elisabeth. Her mother Mary Lou Mullins of Wellington, OH, brothers John Paul Mullins of Lagrange, OH and Michael Mullins (Jesse) of Humble, TX, sisters Jennifer Knapp (Jeremy) of Spencer, OH, and Julie Mullins (Larry) of Homerville, OH, sister-in-l aw Pam (Paul) of New Orleans, LA. Two-Step Children, four Nieces, two Nephews, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Edward H. Mullins, Jr. of Wellington, OH.

The family wants to thank Dr. Kelli Cawley for the excellent care she gave her through her battle with cancer, Dr. Emmanuel Agaba, and the staff of Strecker Cancer Center, as well as many friends that supported her throughout her journey.

There will be visitation between 4 and 7 on Monday evening at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home 314 Fourth Street in Marietta, OH and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday (July 24) 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 33 Rosemar Road, Vienna, WV.
