Verna Ruth Wasson

Verna Ruth Wasson, 78, of Marietta, OH, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 5th, 1940, in Washington County to the late David Edgar and Ethel (Fulton) Wasson. She is also preceded in death by her grandparents, Nicholas and Tessie (Kuhn) Fulton, and two brothers, Fred (Donna- Deceased) Wasson and Raymond Samuel Wasson.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles (Ruth-Deceased) Wasson of Macksburg, OH, and William Howard (Marguerite) Wasson, of Longmont, CO, and two aunts, Betty (Edward – deceased) Schoeppner and Bonnie (Lafe – deceased) Boley, both of Marietta, OH. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Verna lived most of her childhood in the Whipple and Lower Salem area and graduated from Salem-Liberty High School. She was a member of the Lower Salem United Methodist Church.

Most recently, Verna had been a resident of Muskingum Valley Nursing Home in Beverly, OH.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday (March 19) at 11:00 AM at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Lou Verdi officiating. There will be no services at the cemetery but friends and family are invited to attend a luncheon next door at the Betsy Mills Club immediately following the service. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18th, from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at Lankfordfh.com.
