Walter “Glenn” Vanscoy
Walter “Glenn” Vanscoy, 76, of Watertown went to be with the Lord, September 10, 2013.
He was born February 6, 1937 in Cairo, WV to William L. Vanscoy and Dorothy Mae Hall. Glenn married Mary Pugh who preceded him in death in 2003.
Glenn was a veteran of the US Army and had been stationed in Alaska. He was a Baptist believer and loved playing gospel music with the harmonica with Eugene Haught and the group All Gods Children.
He survived by his sisters Louise (Chester) Francis and Carroll (Cliff) Robinson, Three nieces, four nephews and many great nieces and nephews, whom Walt loved dearly.
In addition to his parents and wife, Glenn was preceded in death by his aunts and uncles whom he had made his childhood home and a brother Marion L. Vanscoy.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday September 13, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with his longtime friend Eugene Haught officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 and on Friday until the hour of service.
