Walter “Peanut” Esten Oliver

Walter "Peanut" Esten Oliver, 85, of Marietta passed away at 12:00 am Monday, March 3, 2014, at The Arbors. He was born May 12, 1929, at Point Pleasant, OH, to William and Katherine Oliver. Peanut was employed the U.S. Steel Corporation as a pipe fitter.

Walter is survived by 4 sons and 2 daughters: Walter E. “Eddie” Oliver (Diedra) of Lowell, David Oliver and John Oliver of Marietta, Tony Oliver (Angie) of Lowell, Sherry Whipkey (Gregory and Brenda Oliver of Marietta; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother Jim Oliver (Maxine) of Beavercreek, OH, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Ray

Bentley; brother Bob Oliver and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Mar. 5) at 3:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home where friends may call on Tuesday evening from 4 until 7. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
