Warren M. Cameron
Warren M. Cameron, 94, of Newport, Ohio, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday (Nov. 29, 2011) at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Roane County, W.Va. to Martin and Charity Looney Cameron. In his younger life he loved riding trains across the country. Warren had worked at Republic Steel Mill in Canton, Ohio before working for American Cyanamid for 27 years at Willow Island, W.Va., where he retired 30 years ago. Warren was a member of the Calvary Mission Church in Parkersburg for 29 years where he enjoyed playing the guitar. His hobbies include playing the guitar, square dancing and listening to Bluegrass music. He also was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Warren was married to Claire Harper Cameron who preceded him in death on March 12, 2006.
Surviving are children, Jo Ann Martin (Robert Eugene) and Janice "Jane" Mendenhall (Blain) both of Newport, Mary Ross of Parkersburg and William "Bill" Cameron (Johanna) of St. Paul, Mo. Also surviving are grandchildren: Cheryl, Greg, Mike, Rick, Tim, Troy, Tiffany, Julie and Lori; 14 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Daisy Myers of Clearwater, Fla. and a brother Delmar Cameron of Newport also survive.
In addition to his wife and parents, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday (Dec. 2) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Brown officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
