William (Bill) Kenneth Keelin

William (Bill) Kenneth Keelin, age 87, passed away the evening of July 16, 2016 at his Marietta home surrounded by family.

Moving from Shelbyville, Kentucky to Marietta in the early l950’s, he began working for the Marietta Times as the Composing Room Foreman. He had several other business ventures during the years, including owning and operating two hotels and restaurants. In the late l960’s, he started Coin Machine Company, and over the years, grew it into a large and rewarding business.

In addition to his wife of 66-years, Della Marie Keelin, William is survived by daughters, Jennie (Ronny) Beardsley and Lydia (Dennis) Hart, two grandchildren, Misty (Tim) Mercier, Rachael Beardsley and one great-grandchild, Madelyn Grace Mercier.

Along with his wife Della, William enjoyed his retirement spending the winter months in Florida and summers in Marietta for many years. Although he was somewhat of a quiet man, he was very intelligent and constantly thinking of exciting new ideas, business ventures and things to build. He was a “go-getter” and over his lifetime, very fortunate to try most, if not all of his ventures and ideas.

Honoring his requests, there will not be a service.  McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family.
