William Emory Dayton
William Emory Dayton, 78, of Marietta passed away 8:45 pm, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Marietta Center following a long illness.
He was born September 8, 1936 in Navarre, OH to Howard W. and Ila B. Heinzeroth Dayton. He was a 1954 graduate of Marietta High School and had served in the US Army.
Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Connie L. (Patterson) Dayton , three sons Jeffery (Adavier) Dayton of Tyrone, GA, David (Sheila) Dayton and Daniel Dayton both of Marietta. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Andrew Dayton, Emily Dayton, Jessica (Josh) Froese, Matthew (Ashli) Dayton; step-grandchildren Madison and Isaac Harris; 5 great grandchildren and two brothers: James (Diane) Dayton and Kenneth Dayton, both Pensacola, FL.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother Tommy Dayton, grandparents Emory H. Dayton and Ocie Curby Dayton and William S. Heinzeroth and Myrtle Workman Heinzeroth.
The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and aides at Marietta Center and Hospice for the excellent care given to Bill.
According to his wishes he was cremated and private committal services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park.
