William J. “Bill” Fryman

William J. “Bill” Fryman, 79, of Marietta, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at his home.  He was born May 12, 1935, in Marietta a son of Comer and Pearl Oliver Fryman.

Bill was employed at Union Carbide Plastics and retired from Chevron.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 64 and also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

On November 1, 1957, he married Gertie Legleitner who survives with one son and five daughters:  Bill Fryman, Jr. and Lynn Petty both of Marietta, Lou Fryman of Parkersburg, Patty Ullman of Vincent, Ann (Bob) Duvall and Amber Pesarchick both of Daytona Beach, FL; 13 grandchildren:  Carl Hall, Skylar Petty, Mariah Bloomingdale, Molly Fryman, Aleda Olcott, Jessica (Felix) Osuna Cotto, Olivia and Marissa Duvall, MacKenzie, Drew and Elliott Ullman, Jack and Evan Pesarchick; 2 great grandchildren, Mia Hall and Landon Olcott.  He is also survived by 2 brothers, Comer (Jeanne) and John (Jennifer) Fryman; 3 sisters:  Betty McCain, Mary Lou Prater, Barbara Fryman and brother-in-law Craig (JoAnn) Legleitner and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters:  Dorothy Chute and Wilma Dutton.

The family will greet friends on Thursday  (Dec. 4) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home from 2:00 until 8:00 pm.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
