William W. Erb

William W. Erb, Jr., 63, of Stanleyville, went to be with his Lord and Savoir on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at his home.

He was born on March 12, 1948, in Marietta a son of the late William W. and Betty Maxine Denton Erb.  Bill graduated from Lawrence High School in 1966 and retired from the Washington County Highway Department after 36 years.  He attended and was a member of Marietta Baptist Temple.

On September 27, 1969, Bill married Linda Mae Lauer Erb who survives with 6 children:  Billie Jo (Paul) Metz of Reno, Richard (Cindy) Erb of Whipple, Nichole Graham of Marietta, Noah (Selena) Erb of Marietta, Nathanael (Jessica) Erb of Whipple, Isaac (Rachael) Erb of Whipple; grandchildren:  Daniel and Hannah Metz of Reno, Benjamin, Audrey, Cordell and Faith Lynn Erb all of Whipple, Rachel and Stephen Graham of Marietta, Jacob and Kendra Erb of Marietta, Raegan and Carson Erb of Whipple.  He is also survived by brothers and sisters:  Jim (Mary) Denton of Marietta, Sharon (Larry) Hurst of Marietta, Donna (Richard) Forshey of Devola, Susan (Roger) Fickeisen of Whipple, Joy Ann Erb of Zanesville, Mark Erb of Reno, Allen Erb of Glendale, AZ, Jason (Theresa) Erb of Fleming and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved very much.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 4th, at 10:00 at Twin Rivers Baptist Church with Pastor Don Teubert and Pastor Robert Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon after 2:00.
