Wilma E. Thomas

Wilma E. “Sis” Thomas, 95, of Columbus, formerly of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.

She was born on January 10, 1914, in Monroe County a daughter of Clyde and Sena Camden.  Wilma was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church and a graduate of Salem Liberty High School.  She was a homemaker.

On May 12, 1934, she married Lloyd M. Thomas who preceded her in death on January 25, 1990.

Wilma is survived by one daughter, Anne (Tom) Bucher of Gahanna, OH and granddaughter Becky Thorne of Gahanna and grandsons, Bob Bucher of Plain City, OH, and Jim Bucher of Grove City, OH; great grandchildren:  Angie (Rex) Toney, Brandon (Mary) Thorne, Jamie Bucher, Christopher Bucher and 3 great, great grandchildren:  Ashton, Chance and Makenna Toney.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard, and 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (July 25th) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Don Archer officiating.  Burial will be in Salem Township Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm on Friday evening.  Memorial contributions in Wilma’s memory may be made to Norwood United Methodist Church, 23 Colegate Drive.
