Betty Hardie, 92, of Belpre passed away on April 17, 2026 at Arcadia Nursing Skilled Nursing & Rehab.
She was born in Marietta on October 6, 1933 to Woodrow and Francis Merrow Waterman. She had been employed at the Lafayette Hotel for over 38 years as a cook, before retiring from The Glenwood Community.
Donald Eugene Maxon, Sr., 75, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital Southeast, in Newark, OH. He was born on September 3, 1950, in Marietta, OH to Ruth (Smith) and Thomas Maxon.
After graduating from Marietta High School in 1968, Don attended Hobart Welding School in Troy, OH. In May of 1970, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in Davisville, Rhode Island. He was an electrician with the Mobile Construction Battalion (Seabees), serving tours in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Diego Garcia, and Antarctica.
Irene “Diane” Fleming, 81, of Devola passed away at 8:35pm, Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born June 28, 1944 in Columbus a daughter of Cecil I. Vickers and Genevie “Jenny” Sims Vickers.
Diane was a graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1962 and had been employed by Dye & Dye PA, Robinson, Caltrider and Tenney, Big Bear, Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Bob Bingler Ford and retired from Haessly Hardwood Lumber Co.
Sandra P. Davis, 83, of Whipple, Ohio, passed away at 1:23 am, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Belpre Landings. She was born on March 6, 1943, in Germantown, Ohio a daughter of Helen Martin.
Sandy was retired from WASCO. She enjoyed watching Fort Frye basketball, both men and women.
Josephine Dettorre, 102, of Marietta, Ohio, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
She was born March 4, 1924, in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of Salvatore and Rose Tortorici Casuccio. She was formerly a member of the Covenant Presbyterian church in Steubenville and First Baptist Church upon moving to Marietta.
Gerald Paul Moore, 88, of Stanleyville passed away at 2:22 pm on Monday, April 13, 2026 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born May 14, 1937 a son of Harold Moore and Margaret Born Moore.
Gerald was a dairy farmer and attended Wagner Union Church.
Norma Jean Blair, 65, of Marietta passed away at 11:40 am, April 6, 2026, at Marietta Heights. She was born July 29, 1960, in Washington County a daughter of Daniel Wayne Blair and Loretta Ruth Jenkins Blair. Norma had been employed at The Arbors of Marietta.
