  • Connie J. Prescher

    Connie J. Prescher, 84, of Marietta passed away at her home on February 6, 2026.
    She was born December 26, 1941 in Lower Salem to Paul and Olive Holshu Moore.  She was a 1959 graduate of Marietta High School.  Connie had worked as a secretary for the City of Marietta Water Dept, First Baptist Church and Marietta City Schools before retiring from Wood County Schools.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marietta and Marietta Kiwanis Club.  Connie enjoyed attending the church circle groups and the Goose Creek School and Marietta High School reunion luncheons.  She donated her time and support to various community needs including the local food pantries Coats for Kids, Christmas Shoe Boxes, the Humane Society of the MOV and other local charities. Connie loved animals especially her cats.

  • Warren Johnson

    Warren Johnson, 76, of Marietta passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2026 at The Arbors of Marietta.
    He was born on July 6, 1949, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of Arthur Johnson and Flora Moorefield. He was a graduate of Belpre High School. He was a journeyman pipe fitter and boilermaker for the Union Local 168. He taught welding at WVU-P and owned Advanced Micro Computers on Second Street. He did System Administration for Jackson General Hospital until his retirement.

    Jeffrey S. Ferrebee, 62, of Marietta passed away at 12:28 am, Wednesday February 4, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    He was born November 10, 1963 in Parkersburg, WV a son of William Eugene Ferrebee and Eileen Kirby Ferrebee. Jeff was a Baptist by Faith and was employed at Bob Evans Restaurant.

  • Raymond Travis Fleming

    Raymond Travis Fleming passed away on February 1st, 2026, in Marietta, Ohio, at the age of 77. Born on May 15, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio, Ray grew into a man deeply admired for his kindness, patriotism, and love for his family and country.
    Ray graduated from Roseville High School in 1966 and dedicated much of his life to service in various forms. He proudly served his country with honor and dedication, embodying a lifetime commitment to the United States Armed Forces. He voluntarily enlisted in the United States Army on January 22, 1968, serving for three years, including a tour in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged. During his service, he was assigned to Bravo Company, 782nd Maintenance Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, where he worked as an aircraft structural repairman and attained the rank of Specialist Five (SP5).

    Teresa Stanley ~ 79

    Teresa was born to Thelma and Francis Edgar Simpson in Marietta, Ohio. She graduated from Warren High School, Class of 1964. Teresa was a nurse’s aide and continued to care for elderly and children after leaving her profession. She will be remember for her kindness and love for everyone. She loved fishing and made the best fried bluegill and catfish. She was a proud member of Harbor Site Baptist Church.

  • Michael Blaine Smarr

    Michael Blaine Smarr, 78, of Marietta passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
    He was born December 22, 1947 in Orrville, Ohio to Blaine Smarr and Lenora Spotloe Smarr Kines. Michael had worked at Berdines Automotive for 19 years, before becoming in charge of maintenance for St. Mary Catholic School, where he retired after 25 years of service. He loved his job and the kids at the school. Michael especially loved his grandkids who called him “Boppy”.
