William “Bill” M. Weekley, III, 54, of Marietta passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 4, 1963, a son of Bill Weekley, Jr. of Parkersburg and Martha Carroll Vincent of Cairo.

Bill was a graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1981. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gun collecting. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1982 until 1986 and received awards: Sea Service Deployment Award, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Distinguished Expert Award (highest award given) and WSSI-Water Safety/Survival Instructor. He had been employed as a Chemical Operator at Colegate Palmolive and Dupont.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Brown Weekley whom he married on October 13, 1990, and their children: Ashley and Rachel Weekley; sister Gloria Weekley (Mike) Brown of Williamstown, nieces and nephews: Anne (Eric) Taylor, Michael and Amanda Brown, Lucresha Brown; brother-in-law Todd (Sharon) Brown of Newport; great nieces and nephews: Braxton, Luke, and Josie Taylor, father-in-law, James Brown of Marietta. Also survived by aunts and uncles: Bernice Hostottle of Little Hocking, Bud and Emma Hammett of Vienna, Corrinne Schaney of Carrollton, OH, Sam and Jan Carroll of Charleston, WV, John and Dixie Reed of Pennsboro, WV, Jim and Gloria Morgan of Williamstown, Dan and Kathy Carroll of Harrisville, WV, Mary Bare of Ravenswood, WV, Sydney and Doll Smith of Sandyville, WV, Donna Campbell of Vienna.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Weekley and grandmother Marie Carroll.

Graveside services will be held on Friday (Sept. 1) at 2:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
