Mary L. Warden

Mary Louise Warden, 89, of Marietta passed away on December 29, 2009 at Heartland of Marietta

She was born May 7,1920 at Newark, OH to Ervin and Anna Huff Skipton. She came to Marietta with her parents while still an infant. She spent her life in Marietta and was a 1938 graduate of Marietta High School. She had been employed at the F.W. Woolworth Co. for 25 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Susan Harding Circle, and the Adult Fellowship class. She had assisted June Arnold in the church nursery for several years. She was a homemaker and had been active in the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.

She is survived by her husband Harold Warden, whom she married October 5, 1940; one son Paul Stephen Warden of Mission, TX; one daughter, Beverly Ann Warden of Durham, NC; one grandson, Christopher Warden and his wife DeAnna and one granddaughter, Cynthia Swisher and her husband Jamie of Ml. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Rachael, Alex, and Cameron of Ml.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sisters, a half-brother, Ralph C. Huff; a niece, Betty Williamson and a daughter-in-law, Gilda Warden.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (January 2) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with officiating Doctor George Harris.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning on Friday after 2:00.
