Pearl L. Sparks
Pearl L. Sparks, 79, of Newport passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 1:37 pm at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 3, 1930, in Newport, a daughter of Fred and Anna Rosenbush Seevers. Pearl was retired from Lafayette Hotel. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, and taking care of her cat Sheeba.
On January 25, 1947, she married Clayton Sparks who passed away on January 28, 2000.
Pearl is survived by one daughter and one son: Marjorie (Jim) Greathouse of Marietta and Rodger (Shelly) Sparks of Newport, grandchildren: Tim (Jenni), Katlin, Linda, Teresa, Doug, Nicki; great grandchildren: Maddie, Kylie, Jalynn, Gavin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Clayton Eugene, sisters: Betty, Wilda, Irene; brothers: Clealon and Chuck.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (November 16th) at 1:00 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Gale Lauderman officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00pm on Sunday until the hour of the service.
