Stanley W. Becker

Stanley W. Becker, 65, of Marietta, passed away at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 16, 1944, in Lawrence Township a son of Allie and Betty Smith Becker.  Stan was retired from BP/Amoco, was a 1962 graduate of Lawrence High School, a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam, and a member of American Legion Post 64.  He enjoyed meeting friends at auctions, playing cards, was an avid NASCAR fan and coin collector, and rooted for OSU Buckeyes.

On May 25, 1979, he married Virginia Boley who survives with his mother, and 2 sons and 1 daughter:  Scott Becker and Shanna Becker of Marietta, and Derek Becker of Little Hocking; 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Gale (Audrey) Becker, Wade (Lila) Becker, Floyd (Jane Ann) Becker, Bill (Marilyn) Becker, Ila (Butch) McGregor and Nancy (Chester) Reynolds all of Marietta.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother Eldon.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (November 28th) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Gale Lauderman officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery with full military rites.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 on Friday until the hour of the service.
