Jack D. Schofield

Jack Dennis Schofield, 76, of Whipple, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at 6:41 am at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born on November 29, 1932, in Lower Salem a son of Leonard Joseph and Mildred Irene Dennis Schofield.  Jack was a member of Lower Paw Paw Church of Christ. He graduated in 1950 from Salem Liberty High School and had served in Europe in the U. S. Army from 1953-1955.He was retired from American Cyanamid and enjoyed blue grass music. 

On July 3, 1952, Jack married Ramona Goodwill who survives with 1 son and 1 daughter:  Stephen Ray (Marilyn) Schofield and Jacqueline Dawn (Ted) Lauer both of Whipple; grandchildren:  Laura, Lynnette and David Lauer and Joshua and Jacob Schofield, 2 great grandchildren, brother Joe (Mary) Schofield of Marietta and sisters:  Betty (Rudy) Misner of Punta Gorda, FL and Mary (Dick) Burcher of Malta, brother-in-law Vaughn Goodwill of Portland, OR, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donald and Guy and his beloved dog Oliver.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (September 8th) at 1:30 pm at Lower Paw Paw Church of Christ with Tom Tucker officiating.  Burial will be in Salem Township Cemetery.  Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Monday after 2:00 pm.  On line condolences may be shared with the family at:  www.mslfuneralhome.com.
