Grace E. Davis

Grace E. Davis, 76, died at her home in Marietta at 8:00 am on Monday, September 7, 2009.

She was born on August 19, 1933, to Russell and Ethol Devol.  She graduated with the Marietta High School Class of 1951.  She attended Baldwin-Wallace College.  After two years, she transferred to St. Lukes School of Nursing where she graduated with an RN degree in 1956.

On October 9, 1954, she married Robert L. Davis and in 1957 moved to Phoenix, Arizona.  Six years later she and her husband and 4 young children moved to California, first to Glendale and then to Camarilla, CA.   She worked as an RN there until 1987 when she and her husband returned to Marietta.  In 1989, she began work as an RN with Marietta Memorial Hospital.  She retired from there in 1999.

Grace is survived by her husband Bob, her two sons, Mark R. (Ruth) Davis, Greg J. (Laurie) Davis and daughter Susan K. Davis, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, sister Judy (Mike) Spahr , brother John Devol and numerous nephews and nieces.

Preceding her in death are her father in 1992 and her mother in 1995 and son Russell in 1995.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm on Thursday (September 10) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with brief services following at 4:00 pm.
