Delores “Sissy” Brooks

Delores “Sissy” Brooks, 88, of Marietta passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in London, KY. She was born on January 29, 1935, in Washington County, Ohio.

She leaves behind her fur baby son, Bambi; three siblings, Donald Brooks and wife Sharon of Marietta, Patty Cody of London, KY, Janet Wells of Whipple; her sister-in-law, Lucille Brooks; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Ira and Florence Bertha Miller Brooks, four siblings, Walter Brooks and wife Betty, Loring Brooks, Louise Meyers and husband Dale, Frank Brooks, and by her brothers-in-law, James Cody and John Wells.

Delores was retired having worked for 44 years as a dietary aide at Marietta Memorial Hospital She loved to yodel and was an excellent cook. She was a wonderful aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Delores was the glue of the family, the go-to person and collaborator. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The faithful carrying her to her resting place will be: Charles Roberts, Conner Roberts, Dylan Abrams, Eric Collett, William Goins, and Doug Cline.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday (Feb. 2) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Liberty Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
