Richard E. Hendrickson

Richard E. Hendrickson, 77, of Belpre passed away at Arcadia Nursing Center at 2:10 am on Thursday, March 26, 2009.

He was born on September 17, 1931, in Washington County, Ohio, to George and Juanita Almond Hendrickson.  He was retired from Shell Chemical where he was a maintenance supervisor, was a US Air Force veteran of Korean Conflict, was a member of American Legion Post 64 and VFW.  He enjoyed western line dancing and playing bingo.

On August 3, 1955, he married Marjorie A. Malone who preceded him in death on November 8, 1990.  He is survived by 1 son and 3 daughters:  Richard C. Hendrickson of St. Clairsville, OH, Carma L. (Dale) Chidester and Charmin (Bruce) Alden both of Marietta and Gina (Aaron) Fleming of Belpre, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by one brother, Burton E. Hendrickson of Marietta and one sister, Susan Dearborn of Waterford.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Morehead, infant brother Paul and infant sister Mary.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (March 28) at 11:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Kappel officiating.  Burial will follow in Gravel Bank Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Friday after 2:00 with family present on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8.
