Rebecca “Becky” Ann Barker-Reuse

Rebecca “Becky” Ann Barker-Reuse passed away after a serious car accident on September 14, 2024. Becky was 61 years old at the time of her passing.

Becky was born January 28, 1963 in Cleveland, OH to Estill and Irma (Nutter) Barker. Becky left behind the love of her life, David Reuse, after nearly 20 years together. Becky and David built a home together and shared a family that includes two sons, Jonathan (Erin) Thomas of Berea, Ohio and David R. Reuse of Lower Salem; as well as two daughters, Penny (Joy) Thomas of Cleveland, OH and JoAnn Martinez of Brooklyn, OH.

She is remembered by her grandchildren: Kylie, Alexzandriah, Justin, Brandon, Kayla, Brittney, Braxten, Trinity, Mia, Kalel, Anabella, Emma, Arianna, Damarion, Desiree and her latest grandchild, Jennyanalis, is expected in October. Becky is also survived by two sisters, Kathy and Melissa, her brother, Willie and Henry.

Becky was known for her love of animals. She worked for Gateway Animal Clinic for thirty-eight years and continued to rescue and re-home animals after she retired. She had a deep passion for community and while living in Cleveland volunteered in the Stockyard neighborhood and was involved in the Block Club for twenty-two years. Once she moved to Lower Salem, she was heavily involved in community and church events. Becky leaves behind countless friends whose lives she touched through all her efforts and selfless acts.

The Family will be receiving friends and visitors on Sunday, September 22nd from 1:30-3:30 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with a service to follow. Cremation is entrusted to McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home and another informal service will follow at a later date in Cleveland, OH for friends and family that couldn’t travel.
