Melvin Lee Claypoole
Melvin Lee Claypoole, 86, of Marietta passed away at 5:40 pm, Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born June 9, 1938, in Walkersville, WV, a son of Noah B. Claypoole and Lona G. Conrad Claypoole.
Melvin was self employed as a handyman. He attended Walkersville High School.
On September 21, 1957, he married Sue Ellen Rowan Claypoole who preceded him in death on September 8, 2020. He is survived by his children: Kimberly (Rick) Bailey of Newport, TN, Sherry Babb of Marietta, Tabitha (Rob) Adkins of Columbus and Timothy (Molly) Claypoole of Burnsville, WV; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 sisters: Dorthea Allen and Mary (Junior) Booth both of Jane Lew, WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, David and Jimmy Claypoole, sister Betty Singleton and brother Denzil Claypoole.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Jan. 28) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Beverly Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday before the service from 9 until 11. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com
