Charles R. Grayson
Charles Raymond Grayson, 73, of Devola, died Friday, October 6, 2008, at 11:00 am in Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
He was born on October 28, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, to Freda Alice Grayson. Charlie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during Korea at which time he became disabled and was a life member of VFW Post 5108. He enjoyed all sports, especially Marietta Girls Basketball, and taking long walks. Charlie loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On September 26, 1956, Charlie married Joanne Leak who survives with 2 sons and 3 daughters: Charles Alan (Barb) Grayson, Sandy Koufax (Carol) Grayson, Debra (Christoper) Kephart and Gina Weinstock and her special friend Jim Camden, all of Marietta, and Stephanie (David) Townsend of Waterford, 5 grandchildren: Nathan and Sommer Kephart, Erica Weinstock, Chastity Lang, Chance Grayson; 3 step grandchildren: Carey McGraw, Jon and Marc Townsend; and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 brothers and his uncle Lawrence (Hazel) Ward of Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 8th, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Don Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Tunnel Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00pm on Tuesday.
