Anna McAtee

Anna P. McAtee, 84, of Milner Road, Waterford, Ohio, passed away at 12:45 am on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born on December 29, 1923, in Pleasants County, WV, to Thomas Asher Russell and Iowa Daisy Mills Russell.  She had been employed at Hilltop Restaurant and Wood County Board of Elections.  Anna enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren.

On August 25, 1944, Anna married Virgil H. McAtee who preceded her in death on August 24, 1996.  She is survived by 2 sons:  Virgil Eugene (Debbie) McAtee of Pennsboro, WV and Dennis Wayne (Cindy) McAtee of Waverly, WV, daughter-in-law Beverly McAtee of Newport, grandchildren: Tommy (Michelle) McAtee, Pauletta (Jay) Seevers, Chrystal (Bo) Murphy, Bruce (Louise) McAtee, Brian McAtee, Bradley (Brittany) McAtee, Jacklyn (Eric) Clark, Adam (Tinika) McAtee and 18 great grandchildren.  Also surviving is her brother James Russell, 4 sisters:  Leone Campbell, Leah Barnhouse, Doris Ewing and Rosalie Lewis.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Richard “Tom” McAtee and 2 brothers:  Lloyd and Henry Russell, 2 sisters:  Virginia Nichols and Elsie Otto Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24th,  at 1:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor David Easter officiating.  Burial will be in Willow Island Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 pm on Wednesday until the hour of the service.  On line condolences may be made at:  www.mslfuneralhome.com.
