Christine Marie Decker (Benson)

Christine Marie Decker (Benson) of Crab Orchard Kentucky, born on January 27, 1961, in Marietta, Ohio, passed away on September 25, 2025, in Stanford, Kentucky at Ephraim McDowell Hospital. She was 64 years old at the time of her passing.

Christine was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Charles Benson. Throughout her life, she remained deeply connected to her roots and family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Christy Decker and Candice Decker, who carry forward her memory with love and strength.

Christine’s life was shaped by the bonds she shared with her siblings. She is survived by her brother Dearrell Benson and sisters Bonnie Delong, Ann Huck, Sandra Cooke, & Nancy Murphy, and grandchild Amari along with many nieces, and nephews. Also survived by special friend Kenny Fanin. She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles W. Benson, Delmus Gene Benson, and Ernest Lee Benson, and sisters Janet Grahame, Marilyn Shankland, Donna Benson, Patricia Benson and Wilma Carpenter. Christine also mourned the loss of her beloved sons, Keith Decker and Kenneth Decker. Her passing marks the end of a generation that included numerous cherished aunts, uncles, and grandparents who went before her.

Christine’s journey through life was marked by resilience in the face of loss and a steadfast commitment to those she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Friends may call on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, viewing from 4-7 p.m. and funeral on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home in Marietta, Ohio.
