Don Frampton
Don Frampton, 89, formerly of Marietta, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025. Born July 26, 1936, in Connersville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Horace and Beulah Frampton.
Don graduated from Connersville High School and Purdue University before beginning a long career as an engineer with Shell Chemical. A transfer with Shell brought Don and his family to Marietta, where he embraced the community, he grew to love. He was member of First Congregational Church, and his volunteer activities over the years included serving on the board of The O’Neill Senior Center and tutoring students at Marion School, where his wife, Patsy, taught.
His family will remember his love of gardening, especially Bonsai trees and Japanese gardens, jazz guitar, and his fondness for dogs. Above all, Don was a loving companion and caregiver to his wife, Patsy, throughout her long illness.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Patsy Frampton; his sister and brother-in-law, Lora and Jack Richardson of Rushville, Indiana; and his sister-in-law, Karen Osborne of Marietta.
He is survived by his three children: Jenny Frampton of Nashville, Tennessee; Jill (Ted) Beanard of Vienna, West Virginia; and Ken Frampton (Lynlee Burton) of Franklin, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Mary and Noah Frampton, Emily (Ashley) Miller, Ezra Stollar, and Jacob (Meleah) Stollar; his brother-in-law, Ed Osborne of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.
Don lived with Alzheimer’s disease for ten years. Many understand the profound impact this illness has on individuals, families, and society. In his memory, those who wish may consider supporting Alzheimer’s research or efforts to expand resources and support for caregivers. https://tinyurl.com/DHFrampton
