Edna Elizabeth Searle
Edna Elizabeth Searle, 89, of Marietta, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Hannah's House.
She was born February 6, 1923 in Johnstown, PA to Charles E. and Margaret H. Price Stock. Edna and her deceased spouse were avid golfers and round dancers. Edna had worked as a realtor for Logue and Schwartz, but mostly enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Edna is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Schanken Lindstrom (David) of Elko, MN and Karolyn Schafer (Terry) of Marietta, her son, Jack Searle (Tammy) of Pagosa Springs, CO, eight grandchildren, Scott Schanken (Stephanie), Luke Schanken (Seana) and Joe Schanken, Robbie Beardmore, Tracy Beardmore Short (Kris), Ryan, Riley, and Ryder Searle, two great grandchildren, Brady Schanken and Lily Short, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Searle, on October 7, 2004, who she married on July 11, 1945; also preceded by four brothers, Albert, Lewis, Clyde, and Ellsworth Stock.
Funeral services will be held at the McClure Schafer Lankford Funeral Home on Sunday (April 29) at 4:00 pm with Chaplain Bob Sinnett officiating. The family will greet friends for two hours (2:00 until 4:00) prior to the service. Entombment will be in East Lawn Mausoleum.
