Cleora Morningstar Michael
Cleora Morningstar Michael, 99, of Marietta passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012, at The Arbors of Marietta.
She was born on February 26, 1913, in Lawrence Township, Ohio, to the late Otis and Lulu Strickler Morningstar. On October 12, 1940, she married William Edgar Michael who passed away on June 3, 2003.
Survivors include a brother, Gale (Ruth) Morningstar of Columbus, GA, nieces: Debbie (Don) Brown of Marietta, Crystal Hatcher of Phenix City, AL and nephews: William (Kathy) Marshall of Lewisville, CO, Mike (Cindy) Morningstar of Smith, AL, Richard (Betsy) Morningstar of Suffolk, VA, and Randy (Anita) Morningstar of Moore, OK. She is also survived by a special cousin Mary Neader of Marietta and a special nephew by marriage Delmer Doan of Marietta.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Alberta Marshall and brother Virgil Morningstar, nieces: Dora Doan, Peggy Harbor and Mary Kramer and nephew Dean Morningstar.
In addition to being a devoted wife and homemaker, she cooked and baked for a local restaurant and cared for older friends in her home. She will be sadly missed by caring neighbors, nurses and aides and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (May 15) at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moss Run Cemetery. Family will be present to greet friends on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be sent at: www.mslfuneralhome.com.
