Steven Robert McVay
Steven Robert McVay, 69, of Fleming passed away on August 4, 2026, at Muskingum Skilled Nursing in Beverly, OH. Born in Marietta on June 7, 1957 to Robert Huston McVay and Hollie Joanne Woodford, Steve was a 1975 graduate of Marietta HS. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union (495) in Cambridge. After retirement, Steve took great pride in his work at Zide’s ProLine Sport Shop in Marietta refurbishing football helmets.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda S. O’Brien, as well as his first wife, Constance (Connie) Steger. Surviving are his sister Leesa McVay of Charleston, daughter Katie (James) Gilliam of FL, stepdaughters Jacqueline (Omar) Petrou of FL and Lisa (Dave) Taylor of Fleming, and stepson Michael (Rebecca) Templeton of Vincent. Also surviving are 10 grand- and step-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
Thank you to the staff at Muskingum Skilled Nursing and Buckeye Hospice for their care. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
