Phylis P. Whittekind
Phylis P. Whittekind, 84, of Marietta passed away on Saturday (May 12, 2012) at her home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Clifton, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Mary A. Kearns. She was a homemaker.
She married Woody W. Whittekind who preceded her in death on March 21, 2007.
Surviving are five sons, Don (Donna), David (Jeanne), Jim, Tom of Marietta, Harold of Pomeroy; three daughters, Bettie Farley (Ron Moore), Marilyn (Jimmie) Snider of Marietta, Billia Sewell of Mount Pleasant, SC; five brothers, Harry, Kenneth, Charles, Thomas, Danny Kearns of Mason County, WV; four sisters, Billie Jones, Marion Ohlinger, Linda Stewart of Mason County, WV; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and five siblings, Carl and Alfred Kearns, Virginia Mae Kearns, Sarah Roush and Rose Hall.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (May 16) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 pm on Tuesday with family present from 2-4 & 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
