Mary B. Parks
Mary B. Parks, 86, of Marietta passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1926, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of Glen and Laura Dailey DeQuasie.
Mary was retired from Selby General Hospital, was a member of Riverside Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star, veteran of U.S. Navy serving during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 64.
On May 11, 1944, she married Leonard M. Parks who preceded her in death on July 19, 1995.
She is survived by 4 sons and 3 daughters: James D. (Patricia) Parks of Williamstown, Daniel J. Parks, Dean Parks, Michael R. (Evelyn) Parks, Judi Snyder, Wanda J. Haney, Bonnie Parks all of Marietta, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 16 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother and 2 sisters: William DeQuasie, Betty Ferguson, Roberta DeQuasie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Jeff Parks, granddaughter Christene Triffney, brothers, Bruce and Elwood DeQuasie, sister Ruth Dotson, son-in-law Barry Snyder, daughter-in-law Judy Ann Parks.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with G. K. Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Creighton Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon after 2:00 with family present from 2-4 & 6-8. .
The family would like to thank Dr. Brockett and the staff of Marietta Memorial Hospital and Harmar Place for the compassionate care they gave Mary.
