Esther “Jo” Nelma Ratzer

Esther “Jo” Nelma Ratzer, 87, former resident of Jaycee Estates in Marietta, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012, at 10:35 am at Marietta Center for Rehabilitation.

She was born on July 28, 1924, in Corinth, WV, to Mack Roy and Flora Belle Long Sisler. She had been employed at Marietta College in food service and was a veteran of The Women’s Army Corps during WWII. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Glena (Dale) Barnett of Marietta and Shirley (Donald) Sims of LaMirata, CA, 5 grandchildren: James, Michael, Sandra, Kathryn, Susannah and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 26) at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Baumer officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
