Cannie L. (Tootsie) LeMasters
Another faithful Solder – Prayer Warrior went home. Cannie L. (Tootsie) LeMasters went home to be with the Lord from the Marietta Care and Rehab Center on November 12, 2012. She faught hard through a long illness, but Jesus called and she answered. Tootsie married the love of her life, the late Everett C. LeMasters, September 25, 1956 and remained faithful to him until his death August 2, 2011. She was a housewife, minister, gospel singer and prayer warrior. She organized The L-Bar Ranch Gospel Singers, then later on was the tenor singer for Heavenly Express Gospelaires. She was a member of the Swain City Gospel Tabernacle.
She is survived by her son, Danny LeMasters of New Matamoras, OH; three foster children Teresa Kinghten and Pam (Stan) Mills of Marietta, OH and Anthony (Martha) Knighten of Lower Salem, OH; two sisters Mary (Bert) Seffens of Marietta, OH and Pheobe Howell of Lewisville, OH; one brother Paul (Janice) Richards, Sr. of Marietta, OH and several nieces and nephews. There are 41 others who refer to her as mom, so therefore a few even called her Grandma. She also left behind many brothers and sisters in Christ and many friends including Bruce, Jeannette, Peggy, Lisa and Andy (Who called her mom) and Lola her roommate at the nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Edith Casto Richards, her husband, 3 sisters: Mae Knighten, infant sisters, Emma Marie Richards and Patricia Sue Richards; brothers Eddie and Carlos Gene Richards.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (Nov. 16) at 1:00pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
