Frances E. “Fran” Basim

Frances E. “Fran” Basim, 78, of Marietta, passed away at 8:15 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Harmar Place. She was born on April 5, 1934, in Marietta to Holly and Floris Burns Sayre. She had been employed at Harts Family Center for many years. Fran was a member of Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary of VFW.

On April 18, 1954, she married James “Gene” Basim who preceded her in death on March 15, 1994. One son and 1 daughter survive, Michael (Debbie) Basim of Kernersville, NC, and Marla (John) Hearn of Marietta; 3 grandchildren: Nichole (Bobby) Hutchins, Justin Hearn, Joe Basim; 2 great grandchildren, Kevin and Michael Hutchins, and 1 brother Gene Sayre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters: Raymond, Pete, Ben, Dick, Ron, Anna.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Nov. 21) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
