Edward V. Smith, Sr.
Edward V. Smith, Sr., 69, of Navarre, Ohio, passed away at 4:55pm on Friday, November 23, 2012. He was born on September 10, 1943, at Shay Ridge, Washington County, a son of the late Gilbert V. Smith and Pearl G. Haught Smith of Rinard Mills. He was retired as shop foreman for Ergon Trucking Inc., was a member of the Brewster Angler Club and Ohio Wagon Train Association and was an avid hunter. He loved spending time with his family.
Ed is survived by one son and two daughters: Edward V. Smith, Jr. (Joanne L.) of Navarre, Fonda L. Migliore (David A.) of Dover, Kristy L. Werstler (Matthew T.) of Navarre; 3 grandchildren: Cody A. Irwin, Katherine M. Smith, Jennifer L. Smith; two step grandchildren: Alex D. Migliore and Amanda B. Migliore. He is also survived by five sisters and one brother: Genevieve Bosner, Glen Smith, Dora Howell, Delila Howell, Donna Howell, Elaine Howell and many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Nov. 29) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Knob Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
