Carrie Lucille Delancy

Carrie Lucille Delancy, 91, of Williamstown passed away 10 am Wednesday, December 05, 2012 at Harmar Place. She was born in Waverly on December 24, 1920 to Oscar and Rosa Amelia (Haas) Rowley.  She had worked at American Viscose and later at FMC Corporation.  She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, WSCS and the Order of the Eastern Star, Williamstown Chapter #58.

On September 25, 1942 she married John Leonard Delancy who preceded her in death on November 7, 1988.
 
Surviving are their sons Larry A. Delancy, (Wanda) James L. Delancy  (Tonda) and Robert A. Delancy (Connie) all of Williamstown.  Also surviving are grandchildren: Tammy Glover (Timothy) of Marietta, Kevin Delancy of Columbus, Dara Holcombe (David) of Augusta, GA, Ashley Rine (Terry) of Charleston and Joshua and Laura Delancy of Williamstown; step-grandchildren Bethany and Alexis Earley; and great grandchildren Emily and Allison Glover, Josie Delancy, Brock and Parker Holcombe and Blake Rine. A sister Betty Westbrook of Morgantown also survives.
 
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers: Delbert Rowley, Frank Rowley, Herbert Rowley, George Rowley and Richard Rowley, and sisters Mildred Null, Catherine Westfall, Grace Heckert and Beulah Siers.
 
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, December 8, 2012 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Lowe officiating.  Burial will follow in Burnt Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 pm Friday with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
