  • Lynne Estelle Markley Wetzel Groves

    Lynne Estelle Markley Wetzel Groves, 82, passed from Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV and went Home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 16, 2025. She was born on April 8, 1942 to Audrey and Ralph Orben Markley in Marietta, Ohio. She was a 1960 graduate of Marietta High School. Lynne married Tom Wetzel on February 10, 1961. She was the secretary to the principal at Marietta High School for over two decades. Lynne retired from the Marietta City School system after nearly thirty years of service. She was a member of Harbor Site Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for 15 years.

  • Mun Cha (Kim) Mather

    Mun Cha (Kim) Mather, 79, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025.
    Kim gained her angel wings on 1/13/25 at the crisp age of 79, on day shy of her 80th birthday.
    Kim was the beloved wife of George Mather whom she married 36 years ago. George met Kim while stationed in South Korea. Upon George’s retirement from the Army, they moved to Vero Beach, F L where she spent the rest of her days.

  • Robert A. “the Legend” Babcock

    Buckeye Bob, the “Legend”, of Marietta passed away January 13, 2025. He was born July 6, 1941. He enjoyed playing cards, planting his garden, and playing softball.
    Bob played his last softball game at the age of 8l. He was a huge Buckeye fan. Go Bucks! Last year he was honored with a special ceremony for being one of the oldest softball players to play on Hadley Field.

    Ruth Ann Jackson, 93, of Marietta passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at The Arbors of Marietta. She was born April 10, 1931, in Monroe County a daughter of John Richard Stephen and Nancy Elizabeth Miller Stephen.
    Ruth was a homemaker and later in life worked at Big Bear. She enjoyed gardening, especially roses, and loved to cook, bake and can foods. She was a member of Easter Star Aurelius #60, Gilman United Methodist Church and Pioneer Ladies Civitan Club.
