  • Loring Edgar Brooks

    Loring Edgar Brooks, 80, of Waterford passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, at home from Parkinson’s Disease in the loving care of his wife and soul mate of 63 years.
    Loring was born October 11, 1939, in Washington County to the late Delbert Ira and Florence Bertha Miller Brooks. He met Lucille Hanlon at Liberty United Church when they were 13 years old and were married on January 26, 1957 at 6th and Washington Street Church of Christ. They are members of Fifth Street Church of Christ in Beverly.
    Loring worked at Ludlow Township, Harra Equipment, Williamstown Pottery and retired from B. F. Goodrich/RJF International after 42 years. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, camping, restoring his 1960 Ford Convertible Sunliner car, and making wine to fill his 12’ x 8’ wine rack he built for family and friends. While battling Parkinson’s he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing on the Wii.

  • Robert E. Hodge, Jr.

    Robert E. Hodge, Jr., 44, of Lowell passed away at 3:05 am on Friday, April 24, 2020. He was born of March 24, 1976 in Marietta a son of Robert Eugene Hodge, Sr. of Marietta and the late Charlene Goudy Hodge.
    He was employed as a Correctional Officer in Noble County and was an avid guitar player and drummer.

  • Frances Ann Ellis Nicholson

    Frances Ann Ellis Nicholson, 82, of Marietta passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at her home. She was born December 13, 1937, in Marietta a daughter of Dean D. and Zoe Elizabeth Dillie Ellis.
    Ann had been employed in the food industry. She spent many years volunteering with the Girl Scouts, was a member of Devola Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary, a member of Marietta Band Boosters, devoted dance and sports Grandma, was Mrs. Claus and enjoyed ice cream socials and community festivals. She was a member of Putnam Congregational Church. Ann owned and operated an in-home daycare.

  • Russell D. Smith

    Russell D. Smith, 70, of Marietta, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020.  He was born February 12, 1950, in Morgantown, WV to the late Vernon D. Smith, Sr and Betty Williams.  Russell graduated from Warren High School in 1969, had served time in the Army National Guards, and retired from RJF, International.  He enjoyed his family and was very proud of them, enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing bluegrass music with his band Tunnel Hill, and classic cars.
    On November 16, 1973 he married Rose A. (Darrah) Smith, who he was married to for 44 years.

    Neil E. Hinton, 78, of Marietta passed away at 12:30 am, Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Heartland of Marietta.
    He was born July 6, 1941, in Marietta a son of Albert and Mary Reed Hinton. Neil had been employed as a pipe fitter for Elkem Metals. He was a member of Tunnel United Methodist Church.

  • G. Beman Miller

    G. Beman Miller, 95, of Marietta past away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Elmcroft Assisted Living.
    He was born on February 3, 1925, in Marietta to the late George and Wava Miller. Following graduation from Marietta High School in 1942, he attended The Ohio State University for one year. From November 1945 to June 1954 he was employed by Washington County Farm Bureau Co-Op, leaving to take the post of Organization Director of the Ohio Farm Bureau in Northeast Ohio.
    In November 1975, he was employed by Washington Landmark, Inc. – formerly Washington County Farm Bureau Co-Op – as it’s General Manager. He retired from this post in December 1988 with 43 years of service.

  • Lucy Marie (Roberts) Scott

    Lucy Marie (Roberts) Scott, 75, of Williamstown passed away April 20, 2020 with family by her side.
    She was the only child born to the late Ralph Paxton Roberts and Jeanette (Mildren) Roberts, November 24, 1944, in Marietta, Ohio. She moved to Delray Beach, Florida at a young age and returned to Marietta in 1957. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1963.
    She married Richard H. Scott in December of 1963 and they remained in Marietta until relocating to Williamstown in 1978. She worked for Dr. James Mills, DDS for 11 years then went on to work with her husband at Al-Cott Marine Service.
