  • Cathy Stratton Engle

    Cathy Stratton Engle, 70, passed away on June 17, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 16, 1952 in Portsmouth Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Joyce Stratton, brother Phillip “Jay” Stratton, mother-in-law Florence Engle, and sister-in-law Linda (Lu) Lackore.
    Cathy is survived by her loving husband Ed Engle, her cherished daughters Erica (Nathan) Booth and Emily (Tim) Dodds, and her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Kylie, Amanda & Matthew Booth, and Troy & Leah Dodds, and her sisters Laura (Lanny) Sheffield, Annette (Bill) Lyle, Peggy (Darren) Bracknell, sister-in-law Nancy (Charlie) Weinstock, and numerous nieces and nephews.

  • Janet Darlene Gossett

    Janet Darlene Gossett walked this earth as a kind and gentle soul for 78 years. She went home to be with her Lord on June 8, 2023.
    Janet was born to Dean and Mary Etta (Simon) Hasley on April 2, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Wynetta Patterson Yokely (Hasley) and Gary Hasley (Donna).
    On September 5, 1965, she married her soul mate, Bernard Wilson Gossett. They were married for 57 years. Together, they lovingly reared three children. One daughter, Teresa Stoops (Tony) and two sons, Randy Gossett (Tara) and Timothy Gossett (Michele). Janet’s son Tim preceded her in death and was waiting on heaven’s shore to welcome her home.
    Janet attended Twin Rivers Baptist Church and was a charter member. She taught Sunday School for many years until December, 2022 when her health began to decline. During that time she had the opportunity to teach her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed singing in the church choir. Janet also played violin and would play and sing duets with her husband.

  • Ray A. Needs

    Ray A. Needs, 70 of Waterford passed away at 7:30 am, Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his home. He was born on April 5, 1953, in Marietta a son of Francis and Mildred Wright Needs.
    Ray is survived by his four sons: Tony Needs of Marietta, Timothy Needs of Macksburg, Mitchell Needs of Marietta and Quinn Needs of Barlow and three grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.

    Gladys Mae Hinton, 100 years of age, formerly of Belpre, passed away 9:45 am on Monday, June 5, 2023, at her home in Baltimore, OH. She was born March 16, 1923 in Belpre a daughter of Frederick Riemenschneider and Mabel Robinson Riemenschneider.
    Gladys was retired from Belpre City Schools where she was a cook. She was a Jehovah Witness.

    Lester Eugene Morgenstern, age 83, passed away peacefully in the morning of June 2, 2023 in Caldwell, Ohio.
    Lester was born 1940 in Lowell, Ohio to Walter Morgenstern and Virginia Gebhart Morgenstern. In 1957, Lester graduated from Fort Frye High School and served in the National Guard. Lester was the excavator and owner/operator of Morgenstern’s Nursery and Greenhouses located in Lowell, Ohio.

  • Jerry David McGee, Sr.

     
    Jerry David McGee, Sr., 76, of Marietta passed away May 31, 2023, at Waterview Pointe. He was born February 7, 1947, in Marietta to Roy Edward McGee and Clarice Wilson McGee.
    Jerry was employed at Nutters Heating and Air Conditioning. He liked to collect coins, antiques and Marietta History and enjoyed playing cards.

  • Jeffrey Michael Covey

    Jeffrey Michael Covey, age 65, died suddenly and unexpectedly from a cardiac event in Ocala, Florida on May 28, 2023. Jeff was born in Marietta, Ohio on January 11, 1958, to Donna (Sutton) Pugh and the late Dick Covey. Jeff attended Marietta High School and then honorably served his country in the United States Army for three years overseas and stateside before returning to Marietta where he worked for several decades at RJF International (formerly BFGoodrich).
    Jeff was the proud father of Audrey (Scot) Caley of Pittsboro, Indiana, and Joshua (Lindsey) Covey of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was a loving grandfather to Lynlea, Samuel, and Luke Caley, Stella Covey, and he was excitedly anticipating his fifth grandchild on the way.
